Peaceworks march highlights the ever-changing public perception of climate change 

The perception of climate change has varied from a solidified concept among the science community to a wavering issue among the public over time. The new administration has largely denounced climate change as a hoax, and has withdrawn the United States from the Paris Climate Accord. However, nonprofit groups such as Columbia’s Peaceworks continue to raise funds in support of climate change awareness. They did so Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, during the organization’s annual Walk for the Climate. Heather Akin, who has done science communication research for the Annenberg Public Policy Center, breaks down how the media, political figures and others have influenced shifting views of climate change over time.
